Overview
One of 10 educational circuit boards we designed for a private training institution. The circuit monitors an external tilt sensor connected via a screw terminal; when the sensor detects tilting, it triggers a transistor that switches on a 2.3kHz piezo buzzer, producing an audible warning. A separate terminal connection allows the sensor to be mounted away from the board, wherever needed.
Purpose and Goals
Our customer's goal was to teach students how an external sensor is wired into a circuit and interfaced, the logic of transistor switching, and how a piezo buzzer is driven, through a concrete example. We handled the full schematic and PCB design ourselves, using a screw terminal for the sensor connection to make assembly easy and flexible for students.
Development Process
After the needs analysis, we designed the circuit connecting an external tilt sensor to a transistor switching stage and a buzzer output. We added a separate terminal block for the sensor connection and a reverse-polarity protection diode on the power input. We delivered the schematic and PCB design to the training institution.
